Definitely theft. Neither of the old ladies paid for anything. The poor boy was exploited. Bus driver is 3rd party to the crime. How can we condone this sort of vile behaviour? It sets a poor moral precedent for our younger generation. It is ok to steal. Death penalty I say!
Speaking of the bus driver. Did anyone else notice that he was a "rather large" fellow of polynesian descent. Stereotype? or I am over-analysing here?

I like the More FM ones. They always crack me up especially the latest one with the truckie looking dude singing into the fan. I nearly pissed myself when I first saw it.

I liked those computer generated bluebird penguin and polar bear ones... and the primo one with the dog that sticks his head out the window, and the human who decides to copy that.

NO it doesn't, the ad is very subjective. They are shown as being witty and helpful, not connoving as you think. they are helping the guy to make his girlfriend happy.
He is then depicted as being generous because he gives two strangers the things he can't take onto the bus.
The bus driver is depicted as being a rule obeyor because he doesn't allow the guy on the bus which is the rule. This is the only time bus drivers are depicted in a positive light.
I didn't notice the music but this ad is excellent.
Yes very subjective... so why are you taking it on face value? They are helping the guy?! You what? - by getting him to spend his money on them?
He is being depicted as a young gullible fool. His romantic intentions taken advantage of by two conniving women.
The bus driver to me is depicted as a heartless bastard... taken into account the context of the poor blokes position the food and drink being sealed and obviously a gift - how the heck can you simply say "he is a rule obeyer"?!
Now were the SS who were obeying rules set by Himmler, Eichmann etc up to Hitler, fine as they were 'rule obeyers'? Were those who carried out 'The Final Solution' simply 'rule obeyers'? Positive light? No compassion - and you were going on about subjective meanings. Might like to read up a little on textual analysis and in within that ideological analysis. Barthez comes to mind as well, not not the ex United French goalkeeper.
Its quite funny as I originally posted my first reply regarding this ad (tongue firmly in cheek..or cheak) in response to your finding some ads good or bad based on principles of sexism etc. Are you actually having a giggle or what?

No I am not having you on, this is an ad I like to be perfectly honest. it has you in suspense.
I love those TSB ads regarding stereotypes and groups. It gives me a laugh because I work part time in music research and we categorise. The ad is tongue in cheek.
I could get offended as I do work in the business but I hate those stupid recorded messages too and it really plays into that.

Whats working in the business got to do with getting offended? You're 19 yes? Why do I get the impression that you think you know more about 'the business' than my partner who is a senior creative for one of the biggest ad agencies in NZ? Or me with degrees left, right and centre?
Whether you mean it or not, your writing style is very provocative and attracts distaste and obviously by the replies in here ridicule. I could get offended as I do work in the business Do you know how arrogant that sounds? Honestly?
Perhaps a slight shift in the words you chose may help you communicate in a less confrontational manner? - As it detracts from whatever meaning you may have intended.

Let me spell it out. In the above sentence you mentioned the word offended. If you didnt want offence taken or you were not indending offence, then that word should never have been in the sentence.

Reverse pshycology. Never use the thing you don't want to happen in the sentence. EG, in theatres when the fire alarm rings, we were taught to say "Please walk calmly to the exits". We were NOT ALLOWED to say "walk, don't run to the exits" because it puts the word "run" into that person's mind.
my suggestion if you don't want confrontation is to avoid using too many emotive words in your sentences.

Hey, you used the word "aimed" If you don't want anyone to aim anything at Malibu you shouldn't use that word.
Try, "your suggestion to help Malibu..." or something.

I m one of the people who rings people up trying to take up 5 minutes of their time, funnily I have the highest results, that is why I could get offended, the data collection is portrayed in a negative light, which doesn't make our job any easier.
My writing is emotion based because that is what I am when I write, usually very into, or very against something. No i will not write less confrontationally because I write from the heart.
"inhale clean air" and reverse psychology signs would probably work on me in actual fact, why hasn't the government tried that yet with smoking?

I loved the "Do the right thing, put it in the bin" ad.
Also - relating to one of my previous comments - the "Making it Click" ads. In my opinion, the positive reinforcement ads are far more effective than the "horror" ads now being showed to slow people down or to put on their seat belt.

I think the make it click ads were fun, they were associated with happiness and good times. Those sorts of ads should still air I think. They would appeal to gorwn ups as well.
I loved those crunchie bar and milky bar ads that they used to have. Have a crunchie, golden crunchie bar.... and the milky bar, milky bars are all on me.
It was good that a few years ago kids would be in choclate commercials and sex didn't need to be used like nowadays.

I like the "don't be a tosser" ads they have up everywhere in sydney to discourage people from 'tossing' there ciggie buts on the ground. Me and my back packer mates used to have so much fun yelling "DON'T BE A TOSSER" at ramdom people everytime we saw one of these signs on the way home from a night out on the town.
