I have to say that this was one of the better films that I saw in 2004.

There was this one scene when they are trying to kill a zombie and Queen is playing in the background, it was so well done, you really need to see the film to know what I am getting at cause if I say too much more I spoil it.

Weird, that was my least favourite scene. In what was an unbelieveably good film.

My favourite bit was where Ed explains the entire rest of the movie in metaphor to Shaun, when laying out their drinking plans!!

"We have a Bloody Mary in the morning (the zombie girl called Mary in their back yard), a bite at the King's Head (Phillip getting chomped), grab a couple at the Little Princess (picking up Diane and David from Liz's flat) and then back to the Winchester for shots (gunshots at the Winchester)..." AWESOME!

Also, I am a sad movie geek, so I also went through spotting movie references. Here are the ones I got:

* The pizza place is called "Bub's Pizza" after the zombie in Day of the Dead
* The Italian restaurant where Shaun fails to get tables is called "Fulci's" after famous Italian horror director Lucio Fulci
* The original Dawn of the Dead music crops up twice
* "Ash called in sick today..." (an Evil Dead reference)
* A riff on the most famous line of dialogue in zombiedom as Night of the Living Dead's "They're coming to get you, Barbra" become "We're coming to get you, Barbra!"
* The mirror shot from An American Werewolf in London
* The mexican standoff from Reservoir Dogs with the line, "Stop pointing that gun at my Dad!" changed to "Stop pointing that gun at my Mum!"
* The hassle of 28 Days Later with director Edgar Wright's voice on the TV saying, "Reports the zombies were caused by rage-infected monkeys have been dismissed as bullsh-"

I've been watching a lot of their TV series Spaced, and it's more of the same. Awesome stuff.

If it's middle of the road, run it over.
