Number 7 is: Chinese Democracy

Number 3: is CBGB's in Manhattan. Also where Korn, Limp Bizkit, and many other bands have had their launch. (kinda funny that this place is so highly regarded when the place itself is such a complete dump)

The answer to 12 that you're looking for is "Blue Cheer" - although, I think that's pretty controversial... there are a few bands that could be regarded as the first metal band though...

Anyway, slap some applause on me bud!  Cheesy

which leaves us 4 questions.

to recap and add some more clues.

1. Name the gay/ Bisexual musicians.

Joan Larkin (Lesbian) Was a 'Runaway' before ensuring solo success.
Farukh Bulsara (Bi) Born in Zanzibar, brought up in India. Died on nov 24 1991. In between the latter two had one of the greatest music careers of all time.
Vincent Furnier (Allegedly bisexual)
"Just tried to have fun
Raised Hell and then some
I'm a dirt talking , beer drinking woman chasing minister's son
Slap on the make-up
And blast out the music
Wake up the neighbors with a roar like a teenage heavy metal elephant gun"

Roswell Christopher Bottum(gay) Now plays in a band called Imperial Teen. In the 90s he was in?
Harry Webb.(allegedly) Likes summer holidays. Allegedly owned te fisrt Fender Stratocastor in Britain.
Richard wayne Penniman.(gay) Piano player and vocalist who became a minister in the late 50s.

2. Name the fifties pop star who, on seeing the beatles perform at the ed sullivan theater, threw in the towel on his own singing career for a while, buying the exclusive rights to sell beatles posters in the usa, a move which took him from well off to extremely rich. (clue he covered a number of little richard songs and was known, for some reason, for his buckskin shoes)
Released an album called "In a metal mood". Sings Crazy Train on the osbournes tv show.

8. Which guitarist suggested the idea of putting fine tuners like you see on a violin on to a floyd rose tremolo? Has worked with singers called Sam, Dave and Gary. Thought bout working with Jimmy Barnes but it never happened

9. the most recorded guitarist in history is?
Does anyone own a Guitar Player mag from the 80s? If so you will know this man.

Faruk is Freddie Mercury.
Did you know Samantha Fox is gay?
that ruined a lot of sexual fantasies
till ole Thom saw the light
and
3some fantasy Thom Cynic, Samantha Fox and
Terri Hatcher.
Not that Terri Hatcher is a lesbian

its the cynics fantasy after all.

i know its not really my place to be asking the questions,

but which band recorded more Number One hits than the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, and The Beatles combined?

to some this will be really easy.

Queen would have been my first guess too as they have just knocked the beatles off ths top spot for time spent in the top ten, however I'm going to throw a few more possibilities into the mix.
I'm guessing it isn't Michael Jackson or Madonna even though I reckon in certain countries, ie Japan they probably are and maybe on balance, world wide it could be either of these.
Session musician bands. In the 60s and 70s almost everythig recorded in LA ended up with auxiliary players or recorded in full by a group of musicians known as the wrecking crew. They weren't a band as such but no other musician has recorded more, or is ever likely to do so, than Main session guitarist Tommy Tedesco. The 70s incarnation of this group saw people attached to the wrecking crew who were in groups. It would be hard to claim Steely Dan have the honour of most #1 singles recorded cause Larry Carlton cut some tracks with them but one band who could be a contender is Toto, a band made solely of the 70s to modern day equivalent of the wrecking crew.
Ditto for Led Zeppelin, at one point in the 60s Jimmy Page had played on six songs in the top 20 (I think Vinnie Bell holds the record at 9 at the same time?).
My guesses,  Led Zeppelin and Toto for session work done outside their respective bands.

Get really obtuse and you could say any 60/40 covers band that has recorded their own set.

Somehow Wacko Jacko just seems to fit in a twisted way, particularly in oddball countries like Japan.

Meant to post some more questions yesterday but got sidetracked by a friend calling me to say his mum just died. I thought bout doing a series of Iron Maiden questions in honour of my mate Pete but with 30 mins till I have to get ready for work this'll have to do.

1. Name the first song Steve Harris wrote.

2. On Bruce Dickinson's 'Chemical Wedding' Album there is a common thread throughout most of the songs tied to a famous late 18th Century poet and painter. In one song a narrator reads from 'The book of Urizen' "Lo' a shadow of horror has risen in Eternity..", In another song he rocks up a hymn written by the poet "And did those feet in ancient times, walk upon Englands mountains green, and was the holy lamb of god, on englands pleasant pastures seen?..."
 The poet and artist is?

3. Former vocalist Paul DiAnno went on to form which band?

4. Bruce Dickinson was asked to represent Britain at the olympics in which sport?

5.Which year did Maiden actually make it to NZ to do a show at the Logan Campbell centre and , bonus point, which guitarist who idolized them at the time got an invite to meet them by Karl Burnett's mum, only to have 'Nick' turn around with some bullshit excuse about there not being enough room for two extra people in the TVFM green room?

non Maiden related.

6. Who opened Woodstock in 68?

7. Name the concert on New Years eve 1969 often referred to as the death of the flower power generation, where a hells angel (security for the night) knifed a teenager and beat the sh*t out of the crowd. Bonus point if you can name the headliners.

8. Steve Vai's crossroads character was called?

9. The late Sir John Mills had a daughter, Hayley, who is most famous for Disney's 'The Parent trap'. She has a son who plays in a rock band. Can you name the band?

10. He revolutionized music by drawing a line and proclaiming it F, in his lifetime he drew five lines every kid learns as 'Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit'. Who was he?

UP THE IRONS!

1. 'Burning Ambition'  - MAIDEN!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

2. William Blake  Undecided

3. Killers

4. Fencing!  Smiley

If anyone hasn't seen the Classic Albums DVD about Number of the Beast, I'll lend it to you. Very funny and lots of history on Maiden.

5. 1992 - Bonus: I'm guessing it was... you?

8. Steve Vai played 'Jack Butler' - I remember downloading the tab for Ralph Macchio's solo and pulling it out at school...

- What's troubling is the other members of Alpine Fault have not seen this movie!!  Angry

9. Crispian Mills played in Kula Shaker, but they aren't a band anymore. Is this a trick one?

10. Guido d'Arezzo (around 1000AD) but some say Boethis - some Roman fella (around 500 AD)
