Over the last few weeks I have been in a really weird romatic mood, which is very unlike me.
These next lyrics I am posting are not mine, they are Aerosmith, for their song, Don't want to miss a thing, which I am listening to on repeat at this point in time.
could stay awake just to hear you breathing, Watch you smile while you are sleeping, While you're far away and dreaming, I could spend my life in this sweet surrender, I could stay lost in this moment forever, When every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure,
(Chorus) Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep, Cause I'd miss you babe, And I don't wanna miss a thing, Cause even when I dream of you, The sweetest dream would never do, I'd still miss you babe, And I don't wanna miss a thing.
Lying close to you, feeling your heart beating, And I'm wondering what you're dreaming, Wondering if it's me you're seeing, And then I kiss your eyes, And thank God we're together, I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever, Forever and ever.
(Chorus)
And I don't wanna miss one smile, I don't wanna miss one kiss, I just wanna be with you, Right here with you, just like this, I just wanna hold you close, And feel your heart so close to mine, And just stay here in this moment, For all the rest of time Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
(Chorus to end)
This is such a beautiful song, I love this song by aerosmith.

It was that Angels movie with Meg Ryan in it, I can't recall the name either damn it.
i was going to play poppy love songs, listened to one track and got insanely bored at it, I need my rock or alternative and Garbage and Hole don't have anything about really caring about a guy and wanting to stay lost in this moment, coz every moment spent....I love this song, I think I may start singing along and disturb my flatmates.
usually love songs are all negative, like I want you but can't have you, this one is a combo, it can be for those with that someone or those who want to be, I am listening to it from the latter persepctive.

I thought it was a movie with Liv Tyler (Aerosmith lead singer's daughter), Ben Afleck and Bruce Willis... something about saving the earth from certain doom by blowing up some asteroid headed this way in space?

First up, listening to music is seriously helping my writing career. Simply by listening I can relate and then write some lyrics that are actually good and reflect what a song should truly be.
Also I know too many audio engineers (a total of two so not really that many but still) coz I am now listening to music from a production perspective as well as listening from a "Liz" perspective or listeners perspective.
i should get to what I was really wanting to post, I have written another song, yes another, if I churn them out at this rate I will soon have a book (actually dont' tempt me on that idea, I may just have to collate them all together, get them published (I could set up my own publishing company like my aunt did before she sold it, it could be a good back up career to the magazine after university....).
This song is called "thinking of you" and it is about having such strong emotions for someone that you can't stop thinking of them and you want to be with them, it is about singing this song for them to let them know because you can't tell them yourself so you use the magic of song to do so. (I am a hopeless romantic as you figured Michelle).
Thinking of you - Copyright Liz Shaw 4/3/2005
I can’t stop thinking of you And how we should be together I know you’ve made your feelings clear But I’m being honest and you should know That I want us to get together And it not happening is a fear
I would treat you like a king And never let you cry a tear I would be there for you, night and day And for you this song I sing And I am happy when you are near There are things I want to say
I can’t stop thinking of you And how we should be together I know you’ve made your feelings clear But I’m being honest and you should know That I want us to get together And it not happening is a fear
I am sitting here, with the music And it reminds me of how I feel And I trust in myself and I trust in you You are the one I truly pick And these feelings of mine are so real If only you knew, if only you knew
I can’t stop thinking of you And how we should be together I know you’ve made your feelings clear But I’m being honest and you should know That I want us to get together And it not happening is a fear
I shall sing you this song all night long Hoping that you see the light And see that things would never be wrong They would always be right I would make sure of that And I would make sure that you were happy

I have a crush on a guy at work and even if it isn't reciprocated, who doesn't enjoy having a crush on someone regardless. I was flirting back and forth with this guy all day at work today (an 8 hour shift that wasn't long enough but that was very good). Anyway enough about the guy who I really like, I wrote a song about him.
It is called "the perfect pair" and here it is for you to read at your leisure:
I wanna say something to you, Something that I want you to know But I am too scared to say I want you to be mine one day
You put a smile on my face And you make me grin from ear to ear I know that you I’m going to chase Coz I think that we could be the perfect pair Coz I think that we could be the perfect pair
This is not something that happens to me And if you don’t feel this I can’t let you see The feelings I hold inside Because I don’t want to lose my pride
Bridge: But I’m telling you now and I’m telling you straight That if it exists then it will be determined by fate
You put a smile on my face And you make me grin from ear to ear I know that you I’m going to chase Coz I think that we could be the perfect pair Coz I think that we could be the perfect pair
I want to get to know you better But I am not going to tell you in a letter Some things are best said in a song I could be wrong about us, I could be wrong
Bridge: But I’m telling you now and I’m telling you straight That if it exists then it will be determined by fate
You put a smile on my face And you make me grin from ear to ear I know that you I’m going to chase Coz I think that we could be the perfect pair Coz I think that we could be the perfect pair[/i]

haha, hey Ant, Midnight songs with Gail!!
I remember Gail Ludlow - did you know she sang in a metal band years ago called Gail Force? She was actually friggen good. They did a few gigs around town, supported Knightshade a lot. We used to use Frizbee Recording studios with them on Mayoral Drive - all gone unfortunately (Frizbee I mean). Had a wicked Gig on the rooftops like U2...The Zephyrs lol - brilliant.

I agree with picking on Liz when she's blabbing on about politics, but it's more than a little bit harsh to take the piss out of a song she's written, which has obviously come from the heart.
If anyone takes the piss out of my lyrics, I get really upset, even though I know they're usually pretty cheesy, but lyrics are a very personal thing.
Mind you, I wouldn't be dumb enough to put them on a forum and give the oppertunity for people to judge them.

ironically enough I don't care that you don't like my lyrics. I am more passionate about politics than my song writing ability.
I'm in a good mood today okay so make the most of it.
